Issues of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation

The Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation (Minsotsrazvitiye) is a federal executive authority in charge of working out a state policy as well as normative and legal regulations in the sphere of healthcare, social development, labor and protection of consumer rights including issues of the organization of medical prevention work particularly concerning infectious diseases, AIDS, medical aid and medical rehabilitation; pharmaceutical industry: quality, efficiency and safety of pharmaceutical products; sanitary and epidemiological safety, living standards and household incomes, demographic policy, medical and sanitary service provision for employees in industries with particularly hazardous work environment; medical and biological evaluation of the impact of hazardous factors of physical and chemical natures on the human body; health resort business; labor compensation; pension benefits, including non-governmental pension benefits; social insurance; labor conditions and security; social partnership and labor relations; employment and unemployment; labor migration; alternative civil services; governmental civil services (excluding issues of labor compensation); social protection, including that of families, women and children as well as rendering public services and management of state property in the domain of health care and social development including the provision of medical aid (including with the use of high technologies including transplantation of human organs and tissues); development and implementation of state-of-the-art medical technologies, new methods of diagnostic and treatment, services in the field of health resort business; organization of forensic tests and forensic psychiatric expert examinations; provision of social services, prosthetic and orthopedic assistance, rehabilitation of disabled persons, medical and social assessment, and vocational training, retraining and advanced training of employees of medical and pharmaceutical companies, sanitary and epidemiological institutions, people engaged in social development and health resort business as well as some categories of work safety personnel.
